La Joya, TX - Progress continues at PACK Stadium as La Joya ISD moves forward with the installation of new scoreboard infrastructure as part of the district’s ongoing commitment to enhancing athletic facilities and improving the overall experience for students, families, and the community.

Current work at the stadium includes excavation and footing preparation, structural steel support installation, concrete placement and reinforcement, equipment operation, site coordination, and the alignment and anchoring of scoreboard supports. These foundational improvements mark a major step forward in the district’s larger scoreboard and video display project approved by the La Joya ISD School Board in October 2025.

The upgrade project reflects the district’s dedication to modernizing facilities while addressing long-standing infrastructure needs at PACK Stadium - a venue that has served as a cornerstone for La Joya ISD athletics and community events for generations.

“This project represents an investment in both the future of our students and the continued growth of our district,” said Joe Peña, Executive Director of Athletics for La Joya ISD. “The work currently taking place is laying the groundwork for a modernized stadium experience that will better serve our athletes, families, and community for years to come.”

Once completed, the new outdoor LED video board and integrated sound system will significantly enhance the atmosphere and functionality of PACK Stadium, providing improved visibility, communication capabilities, and an elevated game-day experience.

The project also reflects feedback gathered through community conversations, advisory committees, and planning efforts centered on improving district facilities and student experiences.

“Our students and athletic programs deserve facilities that reflect the pride, hard work, and excellence they bring every day,” added Peña, Executive Director for Athletics. “Seeing this vision continue to take shape is exciting not only for our athletes, but for the entire La Joya ISD community.”

PACK Stadium improvements are expected to be completed ahead of the 2026 athletic season. La Joya ISD will continue sharing updates as construction progresses and the district moves closer to unveiling a new era for one of its most iconic community venues.
